Altium acted as exclusive financial advisor to the shareholders of digital agency webguerillas on its sale to TERRITORY, formerly Gruner + Jahr Corporate Editors, a subsidiary of Bertelsmann.
Through the transaction, TERRITORY, Europe’s market leader in Content Communication, is able to further expand its offering. webguerillas, which employs around 160 staff and has a turnover of about EUR 18m, is one of the largest owner-managed agencies in Germany and specializes in mobile, social media, influencer and alternative marketing.
webguerillas, which has offices in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Cologne, works with clients such as Deutsche Telekom, Mondelez, Hornbach, Google and Saturn. The agency, which will now operate under the name TERRITORY webguerillas, will continue to be led by its management team.
“webguerillas is, in terms of corporate culture, digital and social media expertise and creative approach, the perfect addition to our company,” said Soheil Dastyari, CEO of TERRITORY. “With webguerillas, we want to strengthen our competences in the digital space and underscore our promise to offer the broadest content communication services portfolio from a single source. We believe that modern brand communication must take a holistic approach.”
“TERRITORY is the perfect match for us,” added David Eicher, CEO of webguerillas. “Being part of TERRITORY allows us to continue to advance our company, both in terms of our portfolio and the opportunities we can offer our employees. Furthermore, through TERRITORY’s international network and various business units, we can expand creatively and commercially.”
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed and the acquisition is subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
